Homemade Dog Shampoos Are the Newest DIY Obsessions

 Pet owners have stopped relying on store-bought pet shampoos. If you bathe your dog frequently, here are some homemade dog shampoo recipes you can use for your furry friend.

#Aloe & Vinegar ShampooAloe & Vinegar Shampoo

Ingredients you’ll need for this shampoo:

  • Two cups of water
  • One cup of baby shampoo
  • One cup of apple cider vinegar
  • Two tablespoons of aloe vera

Instructions on how to prepare the shampoo:

Step 1: Once you have all ingredients ready, pour them into a large container and then combine properly until the four ingredients are fully incorporated. Then, pour the mixture into a bottle and use it.

Tip: The shampoo can be stored in an air-tight container.

Tip: Before using the shampoo directly on your dog, pour some warm water over him and then lather him up with the homemade oatmeal shampoo. Massage the shampoo properly into his coat and allow it to sit for at least 5-10 minutes. Then, rinse and dry properly.

#Glycerin Shampoo

Ingredients you’ll need for this shampoo:

  • A cup of apple cider vinegar
  • A cup of dish soap
  • A quarter cup of glycerin

Instructions on how to prepare the shampoo:

Step 1: Once you have all the ingredients ready*, pour the dish soap into a jar and then add the remaining ingredients.

Step 2: For the ingredients to be fully incorporated, you should shake them thoroughly.

Step 3: Now, transfer the shampoo to an empty shampoo bottle.

Step 4: If you are not going to use it immediately, store the mixture in an air-tight container and store it in the bathroom.

*Glycerin is a type of carbohydrate, also called sugar alcohol, which can be easily found in a drug store or in online stores.

#Oatmeal Shampoo

Ingredients you’ll need for this shampoo:

  • A cup of uncooked oatmeal
  • A half cup of baking soda
  • One quart of warm water

Instructions on how to prepare the shampoo:

Step 1: Once you have all ingredients ready, use a food processor or coffee grinder to grind the oatmeal. Remember, the result should be consistent, like flour.

Step 2: Now, transfer the ground oatmeal into a large bowl and add the baking soda. Pour the water and combine until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Step 3: Now, transfer the shampoo to an empty shampoo bottle.If you are not going to use it immediately, store the mixture in an air-tight container and store it in the bathroom.

  • Around 8-12 drops of essential oil – arborvitae, lemongrass, lavender, rosemary, cedarwood or tarrashield (optional)

Step 1: Once you have all the ingredients ready, pour the Dawn dish liquid into a jar and then add the remaining ingredients.

Step 2: For the ingredients to be fully incorporated, you should shake them thoroughly.
